Neferefre Isi (fl. 25th century BC; also known as Raneferef, Ranefer and in Greek as Χέρης, Cherês) was an ancient Egyptian pharaoh of the Fifth Dynasty during the Old Kingdom period. He was most likely the eldest son of pharaoh Neferirkare Kakai and queen Khentkaus was known as prince Ranefer before he ascended to the : Khentkaus II.

The Pyramid of Neferefre, also known as the Pyramid of Raneferef, (in ancient Egyptian Netjeri-bau-Nefer-ef-Ra (Divine is Neferefre's power)) is a 25th century BC unfinished pyramid complex built for the Egyptian pharaoh Neferefre of the Fifth Dynasty. Neferefre's unfinished pyramid is the third and final one built on the Abusir diagonal – a figurative line connecting the Abusir pyramids Constructed: Fifth Dynasty. The tombs published in this volume of the Abusir series have been excavated during several seasons at Abusir South.

The eight tombs are located in the easternmost sector of Abusir South, on the slopes (tombs AS 20 and AS 33) and at the bottom (tombs AS) of a large but low hill, to the north of the so-called Wadi Abusiri. The bulk of the book – written in one massive chapter of pages (thankfully broken into headed sections) – presents a vast amount of descriptive narrative embracing the Czech excavations of pyramids, and royal and private tombs at Abusir, many of which, as the author points out, have thrown up more questions than answers about the Fifth 5/5(3).
